    1967 softie coa

    Hi
anyone out there request a Coa for there softie, we just did and other than the huge disappointment that it was not an S, even with the S badges and pink slip stating it was. I have not received it yet, but over the phone they said it was a 1967 Targa they did not mention the soft window. Do the coa's list the soft window or am I going to get double hammered and find out that this was a soft window conversion.
    Thanks Bret

Seems to me a '67 would be a soft window. I could be wrong but I don't think a hard window was available until late '68.

Hard windows were an option, so stated as an option on the CoA.
Soft windows were standard on 67/68 so you won't see it listed on the CoA.

In 69 it turned around: hard window standard, soft window option...

Yes, 901/02 is the S engine with serial 96xxxx. Sometimes PCNA forgets to check , and state that it is an S, but they will correct that for free.

    Bivvv,
Set aside PCNA and their hit or miss CoA effort for a moment.

    Post some pics here.

"Set aside PCNA and their hit or miss CoA effort"

It appears regularly that the CoA accuracy is poor at best, yes if you go back to them to fix things you know they will, and I would not call it free but they dont charge you more to correct the mistakes. Why with the known inaccuracy's of this does the P car family put so much weight behind it?? The nerve to call it a certificate would make you think it would be accurate, not the case.
PCNA just give us the Kardex like we used to get and you can still get in Europe.

Sorry just a pet peeve of mine

    Regards

Let's see some clear photos of your engine number. 901/02 type engine *will* be 96XXXX. It will be a 911S engine. Your aluminium tag will most likely say "typ 911S" and your chassis number stamped in near the fuel tank ought to be *30XXXXS*.

Post good photos and we'll be able to identify what you have, forget CoA.
