FS: @Robert Barrie Ltd - 69S Coupe RHD

    No affiliation.

Only a handful of RHD 69S exist and I am tracking these cars survival rate so thought I would post.

Looks very nice from the pics. The Pastel Blue paint is eye catching. Love the stance.

Sent a note to the seller asking for more info but haven't heard back.

    Does anyone know the car?

    Ad text:
The 1969 911S is a rare model, particularly in right hand drive. Made for one year only, the specification was relatively close, in standard production form, to that of the contemporary competition cars. It combines the 2-litre engine of the earliest cars with the longer wheelbase and mechanical fuel injection of later models such as the Carrera 2.7 RS. It was the lightest of all production 911s. In many ways it is a junior RS.

This particular example was fully restored and prepared to fast road/race spec by a well-known specialist some ten years or so ago and has remained in the same hands ever since. The engine has recently been completely rebuilt on new unnumbered cases with a new crank and rods and new high compression pistons and cylinders. The gearbox has the shortened fourth and fifth ratios from the Nurburgring set and a ZF-type limited slip differential. The car has a lightweight interior and sits on original and period correct 6 and 7R Fuchs wheels with new tyres.

As is to be expected, this car is highly competitive in historic racing. A regular winner in the under 2-litre class in the production-based Historic Roadsports series, it has also won the overall championship. Away from circuit racing, it is UK road registered and has participated in Tour Auto. It is presented in excellent road- and race-ready condition.

    Pastel?

    "Junior RS".
It's used car-charlatan ad copy like this that disparages a very cool car.

Or it could be Crystal Blue or a later Gulf Blue. Hard to say from the pics

Hi Bryce, thanks for highlighting the car - I'm just back from Retromobile and will reply to your email straightaway. Frank, I'll describe a car that I have owned for the past ten years on my own website exactly as I see fit if you don't mind. You are free to agree with, disagree with and/or debate what I say, but I don't need personal insults. Thanks - I'm outta here!

RHD 69S are pretty rare beasts, how much do they go for in the US (LHD) of course ?

Embellishing with flowery language is not necessary to sell a car like this.
The good news is that everyone can have an opinion. Certainly wasn't calling you a Charlatan; just your language.
    Good luck with the sale.

Personally I think the text is one of the most genuine and honest you will get for a car like this from any dealer.

It's certainly not used car charlatan ad copy or embellished in any way. Not even compared to any private ad.

If you think an ad like this one actually needs to be knocked in such a way you may aswell never read another for sale ad again.

...and I'm certainly no great fan of car dealers!

Is that adds or ads? Add is different to ad. Add is something in addition to whereas ad. is a shortened version of advertisement in which 964RS may well add something to the ad. but I'm not sure which ad. you are referring to.
Would you add some more detail to your comment so that we can work out what ad. you are going on about please.

    Regards
    Mike

Ps Robert is a stand up seller and always a pleasure to deal with. You will do better to find a more honest person to discuss and buy a car from. I have found him to be a gentleman and reliable in every deal we have made.
