thx Nick. However that immediately raises a lot of questions of course. Is it a non-RS body with a newly (and badly) stamped RS number, or is it an original RS body with a new upper trunk panel and the original one is still present and with the car.
Given the value of such cars I would personally always prefer to reintegrate the original stamping no matter how bad the upper trunk panel is, but one needs the real body in order to do that of course.
The car sold for 280.000£, which in 'real RS' money is 'cheap'. Engine number was also not correct. Car has electric windows... which it did not have from the factory. That can be installed afterwards of course, but it seems rather unusual that a car would be restored like that in combination with lightweight doorpanels.
