    Interior decorating advice

    Hey All,

    In the somewhat not so distant future I plan to send my entire '66 911 interior to Tony at Autobahn to have it completely redone with re-chroming the recliner mechanisms, houndstooth inserts, new dash pad, door cards, the whole 9-yards.

    My concern, and the advice request is based on the color. The COA says the car is a black on black, which looks really great on the early SWB cars. Very monolithic and very consistent. However, the car currently has a red (i'd call it wine) interior and I really like it. If it were nicer and more correct throughout, I think it would be real a stunner. Black on red is probably one of my favorite combinations.

    In terms of the body engine compartment etc, the car would classify as a top shape, high quality driver. It's no concourse show winner, and in my care, will probably not reach that status in the foreseeable future. However, I think I'd be letting the car down if I didn't invest a bit into the interior items to bring them up to the current presentation level of the car. Plus, it would be nice to not feel the floor pan with my butt when I drive the car.

    So, what do you think? Go with the COA and do a black / black. Or go with something a bit more flashy even though it's not the "correct" choice for the car?
