Auction Description:

This lovely 1971 Porsche 911E Targa spent many years in the dry climate of New Mexico, then in North Carolina for approximately 10 years before coming back west to California in 2016. This car possesses its original numbers matching engine, complete with MFI, and a non-matching but period correct 901 5-speed transmission.

In California, the car has received a comprehensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration, completed in 2016, that included a complete bare metal glass out respray in the original Irish Green, with new rubber seals throughout the car, new suspension bushings throughout, new front and rear shocks, new rear wheel bearings, a restored brake system with rebuilt calipers and new rotors, powdercoated suspension components and an engine out service with re-sealed motor. In addition, the targa top was professionally restored, new interior carpet was installed, the front seats were restored with period houndstooth inserts, door pockets were restored and various interior trim was recovered. At the time of restoration, the car received two new Interstate U911 batteries.

Excellent gaps throughout. This car has solid original floors and front pan, a testament to the years spent in a dry climate of New Mexico. Most trim is original and in excellent shape. COA in hand confirms engine is original to the car; transmission is a non-matching period correct 901 5-speed transmission.
