Dealer Description:
The offered 911 Carrera RS was delivered to the Porsche Center Frankfurt in April 1973. It had been sold to the Porsche specialist Manfred Freisinger, who sold the car in 1977 without an engine, since Freisinger kept it. From 1978 to 1982 the car has driven in the German rally championship with a 3 liter racing engine. 1982 Sale of the car to Dr. Ing. Reineck and use at smaller rally events. 1988 sale to Mr. Wachsmann and in the same year decommissioning. 1990 Repurchase by Manfred Freisinger and extensive restoration with dismantling into the delivery condition and installation of the original engine. Until 2007, the car is admitted for Manfred Freisinger Junior. After that sale to the British collectors. F. Synters, 2009 to G. Mandaley, 2015 to G. Stockton and 2016 return to Germany. The state corresponds to the delivery, the history is absolutely complete and documented by extensive documents.

Interesting.....
i have records of it being for sale by Maxted Page in April 2009 and Hairpin (UK) in July 2014
BOTH TIMES they have a different history to that shown here (at the start)
This says sold to Freisinger as new car
the others (which i tend to believe say this was originally Manfred Hero's car when new. the latter part of the history matches but raises the question about engine changes when originally Freisinger ??
see comments from Maxted Page from when they had it below
Chassis #0979 was delivered new to well-known German rally driver, Manfred Hero, who competed the car throughout the 1970s. Hero finally retired it in 1982 and 0979 passed in consecutive, private, German ownership through the 1980s until Manfred Freisinger acquired it in 1990. Freisinger retained the car for himself for 17 years and by 2007 had restored #0979 from the ground-up, with meticulous attention to detail, which includes many NOS (new old-stock) Porsche factory parts which today are simply unobtainable at any price, resulting in one of the very best, restored Carrera RS Tourings we have seen. A truly exceptional car, UK registered and available immediately

and hairpin comments from 2014
"This superb left hand drive M472 Carrera RS Touring was supplied when new in Germany to the highly successful and celebrated German rally driver Manfred Hero. Finished in Grand Prix White with blue Carrera script, chassis 0979 was supplied from new with the factory options 220- limited slip differential and number 400- Recaro sports seats. The car was restored to very high standards in the 1990s by the legendary Manfred Freisinger who retained it in his private collection until 2007. It has been carefully and lightly used since by two English owners and remains in outstanding factory correct condition in all respects.
Manfred Hero competed with this car successfully throughout the 1970s, indeed this winning combination did much to enhance his reputation whilst showcasing the amazing capability and breadth of ability that we now associate with the Carrera RS. A number of photographs on file show the car in action during this period.
In the 1980s the car remained with German enthusiasts before being purchased by Manfred Freisinger in 1990. Manfred set up Freisinger Motorsport in 1967 to service the needs of Porsche Motorsport enthusiasts, the name becoming synonymous with the marque and meticulous standards over subsequent years. Showing amazing foresight, Freisinger bought as many new old stock Porsche parts as they became available often from the Porsche factory and authorised dealers who saw no requirement to hold parts inventories for now defunct models.
This expertise combined with his parts inventory made Freisinger the best possible restorer of chassis 0979, especially since this example was destined for his own collection. The car was fully restored with an obsessive attention to detail, many new old stock parts were utilised available only to Freisinger, many if which are today unobtainable. Today many years after completion of the work the RS remains in truly superb condition throughout with amazing detail so often lacking in this model.
After seventeen years of ownership Freisinger was finally persuaded to part with the RS, at which point it came to the U.K becoming part of Mr Frank Sytners enviable collection. In 2009 the highly respected marque specialist Maxted Page sold the car to another English enthusiast with whom it has remained since. The RS has continued to be well maintained as shown by service invoices on file from Maxted Page, Autofarm and Porsche Centre Byfleet (formerly Camtune) where it has been maintained by a senior mechanic who worked on this model when new. The car has seen minimal use in dry summer conditions, indeed the longest trip covered was to the 40 Years of The RS celebration in Reims in May 2013.
