See --- now this makes sense . . . a 'versuch' car that was actually used for some 'test' purpose, at some point
Here's another . . .
Too bad all of Milou's pic-links are dead
Anyway --- just makes all the other 'non-tested' versuch cars that much more curious . . .
. . . or maybe their 'tests' were just more prosaic?
'K --- so the Mechs have finished with the door lock tester . . . wrung it out pretty good at lunch, yesterday, too, looks like, soooo . . .
. . . get rid of it. Only, uh . . . don't sell it to a Dealer
Discount it --- then dump it out to one of the Drivers'

It looks like there were a few Versuch cars with close serial numbers
SN 303328 with engine 903465 used for Kalifornientest
SN 303330 mentioned here https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...11-1965-303330
SN 303331 mentioned here https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...or-Sale/page88 with reference to use of Weber carbs rather than Solex
It looks like 320-013 was discovered a few years back. It was first registered as S-J 3063 in May 1968 by Porsche then LB-MH 40 by Hans Mezger.

' . . .The crucial tip came from Hans Mezger personally: before he bought it, the pre-series vehicle was probably used to approve the new specifications – as a company car for Ferdinand Piëch, who was head of development at Porsche at the time.'
Also --- 320013 is a LWB '68
..........
Two WE Versuch cars have been identified that had early 2.2L engines installed.

For me, the German word, "versuch," always equated to its English counterpart, "bespoke," and for both, the teachings of Humpty Dumpty apply:
Here is my versuch engine case, came out of a 2.7rs test mule
