I have 3 P1018s: one is 003336(glow plug); another is 02/8331 (transistor); and the third is in a car, so the tag can't easily be read. All of these were acquired second-hand, and I don't know their origins.

trying to track down the serial#s

target is to find out the first and the last serial# for every version
there is 5 different webasto types of the p.1018 for 911/912

pic is assembled from my data base and shows the lowest and highest serial # i have for each version.
the arrows should help you to determine your version.

if you have a webasto i would greatly appreciate if you would let me know the:

serial#(not very visible when mounted in the car but most of the time it can be found in the kardex and CoA ,
the vin + production date of the vehicle it belongs to
what type(steel AEG cap,nylon cap,red steel cap,transistor or black) not needed when you post a pic

and
--if you have pics to share..great.

very nice---it is one of the first batch (of 1000 units) that was delivered to the porsche shelves...installed somewhen in 64 or 65...

I recently acquired a box for my ongoing 904 build that contained a set of 904 Solex carb air duct tops and a Webasto gas heater. The box had “904 parts” written on it and I believe the carb air ducts came from 904-042 that was delivered to Portland, OR in March 1964.

However the gas heater serial number is 4550, which appears to be from 1966 and cannot be original to 904-042 since I believe the 904 used the earlier Webasto 1002 heater.
