Even rarer RHD example being one of the 17 first 500 homolgation series with conversion to M471.

There were only a handful of RHD that left the factory in M471 form among that important quota of about fifty of the 500 originally conceived to homologation the 911 and move it front and centre of the factory’s racing activities when the 908 917 were being sidelined by the forthcoming regulations changes agreed by the FiA at the meeting hosted by the royal automobile club in 1972

Further distinction is the history of being a (largely) road configuration private entry when used nearly new in the last real Targa Florio in 1973 where it finished a creditable 18th an event that was won by the factory’s Carrera RS with M491 conversion when driven by Van Lennep and Muller.

In the reserved for RS colour 908 Grand Prix White with Mexico blue wheels and the blue Carrera side decals

A known car in UK&I Porsche RS community.

The first series RS do work upside down in Aus, as you know, so I could come down under and use it to visit my great grandfathers grave it’s near the Hunter Valley wine area

A couple of snaps I took when Paul (Yellow491) and I were chatting to its then owner about five years ago particularly a detail about the fan strap hence the view

A photo from May 73 Margulies or Hedges passing a more specialised racer (a Lola-Ford) in what is a minimally altered new 911 road car, albeit a lighter in weight homolgation special chassis.

If you win the auction I’d suggest just get it delivered to Sicily and meet there, parts of island are very pretty:

Perhaps Paul could give us some driving tips.

(not my car nor I am related to it, just saw it)

Just a quick question, pls delete if not related to this thread. A bit down the add, where you can see pictures of the restoration, there is a picture with what seems like to be a gfk structure moulded into the windshield position.

Does anyone have an idea what they where doing there?

This is worth looking at https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...ght=9113600312
comparing the claims on history on the Elferspot site ("The car was extensively restored to the highest standards by the 'Porsche Pope' Roitmayer from 2012 to 2016 and has been driven sparingly since then") with the posts on this thread there are either two "312's" or something else is wrong
The photos of the car in Cees' post in 2007 as an RSR seem to be the same colour as couple of the restoration shots in the current ad - but the details seem very different to the UK car from 2015 onwards
