FS: Working Times Manual - Very Rare

These rarely come up for sale since they were designed for use in the dealership shops, not for the general public. This one is in very good condition.

    Is this one just 911 & 912?
Long ago I worked at a dealership (VW / Audi) but at one time in the mid 1970's also sold some 914's. This was when VW Canada handled Porsche as well. There were a few Porsche Dealers, but many were VW / Porsche. To sell & service more cars the VW dealers were allowed to sell the 914, but not 911. So I acquired many of the odd 914 manuals and the Flat rate manual was included. My copy is really just a photocopy made by VW Canada for the VW dealers that sold the 914. Reading the times for the service items is guaranteed a lot of laughter. GLWS

    911/912 only. It predates 914

Make a reasonable offer. Want it to a new home
    Thanks

Use this to argue with your mechanic on what he charges you lol

Yeah, I had the same thought for service verification! My mechanic has 4 hours to drop the motor and trans. Would love to know how long the manual says it should take! At the very least it could let me know how much slower I am than my mechanic

4 hours to drop a motor is a lot, although 4 hours removal and replacement is about right for a simple engine plus the work, add time for more complex engines with less room in the engine compartment. If you have a modern dumb kid mechanic in his 20s working for you then yeah absolutely 4hrs because of all the time playing on the phone. I do this work daily - this book would be out of date because you never know what obstacles will be thrown at you from age, damage, and previous bad repairs - this is the number one issue we deal with these days. This book was made considering the car to be only a few years old - not 50-60 years! Same with the main service manual. I would say if your mechanic does a good job and makes your car run well then pay him what he wants and don’t argue. Problem is there is less mechanics for vintage Porsches now than ever before. I had a guy yell at me a while ago and called me a stupid mechanic as if he was better than me. I'll never work on one of his cars again and i told a number of my buddies with shops to not take his work as its not worth it, heard he was struggling to get some stuff fixed recently on his early 911 lol.
