    Seatbelts

I need new belts for my 1969 T but I cant deside what would be appropriate...should I go for the orig style or should I upgrade to the retractable ones? Do the retractable require a lot of modifications to install? Do they really look out of place in a early 911?

I had retractable belts installed in my '69 E. They look fine to me. And since it's my daily driver, I chose comfort and safety over originality.

I put the retractables in both my 69 912 and my 71 911T. Easy install and much more comfortable!

I was pondering the same decision with my 72S. It's a very early one that came with the non retractable. After owning a 70T with the retractable ones I decided to use the retractable. They don't look bad and they work far better. It's one of the few things I'm going to do that's not original but I don't care because it's my car and I'm building it for me. Sometimes you forget that when your trying to do everything so damn correct and original.

I still have my non-retractable belts in my E and I really have few problems with them. I am always the one driving the car, so the drivers side is sized perfect for myself. It can sometimes be a slight chore to explain how to adjust them to passengers; but I am never in such a rush that it is a massive problem.

I have non-retractable 3 points and they are pretty miserable to use. What is an available retractable 3 point that fits without mods?

these are the guys I have always used. Mounted them in my Targa in an hour or so. Coupes are easier since you do not need to modify (cut) the interior rear quarter for the seat belt.

I have also used Pepparts and I like the setup a lot, no modifications are needed, so you can go back to original at any point and with maybe 15 minutes of work. I aldo like th efact that they look sort of period, you can even order them with the Porsche plaque on the buckle. Here's a couple of pics of my setup.

I think I will go with the retractable.....I'm a pretty skinny so there is WAY too much fabric left over after "adjust" the orig 3 point belts. Does anybody recommend any vender's? I checked out the peparts guys...they seem pretty reasonable but is there anybody else?
