Calling All Experts! Does this Look Original?

    Newbie here

Second owner of the 911E I just acquired happened to keep the toolkit, jack and emergency kit (didn't know there was an emergency kit?).

Attached is a pic of the actual stuff. He has offered it at a "fair" (read, still high) price. I don't mind paying up for the stuff assuming it is all original.

I'm new to these cars and am looking for expert opinions!

    Thank you in advance

He should have left it in the car! Pretty cheesy to now sell it as an addon. I don't know about originality

Seriously??? He sold you the car and then is offering this as an additional cost? That is total BS!! That should have been in the car when you took delivery.

Yes, it does appear complete, but you will need to check certain details - 10,000 volt screw drivers, drop forged steel wrenches, proper pliers, ect. I suspect that they are correct by looking at the pic, but you will need to verify for sure. Good luck - I hope it works out for you and that kit goes back with the car.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have clarified a bit more...

I bought the car from the 3rd owner.

I successfully tracked down all the owners, and it is the 2nd owner who kept the gear.

Still not a cool move, the stuff should have gone with the car when it was sold... no disagreement there.

Is the "emergency kit" a common piece? I've never seen one before. I know the car was bought with Euro delivery...

I'd love to have the original gear back in the car... anyone here want to throw out a number for what I should pay?

    Larry,

There are tool kit gurus on this site who will chime in hopefully. As a suggestion, going forward you may want to put a clearer hint in your thread titles to help people determine if they will check in on the thread. Also, the search feature on this site lacks in preciseness but will dig up a trove of info on tool kits. Good research

Here's a link to a 69 kit that was very nice and should be the same contents wise as a 70:

I can't speak to what it sold for but you can see the asking price.

Do you have a close up shot of that tire gauge?

Good suggestion on more appropriate thread title - I can't seem to change it now...

Thank you for the link... I don't have a shot of the tire guage, but I suspect it is not part of the original kit?

Still no comments on the "Emergency Kit"... either it is not part of the original package... or it is uber rare? My guess is that it is not part of the kit :P

I find it sometimes helpful to let Google do the searching for me using a site-specific search. Go to google and try something like: toolkit site:www.early911sregistry.org
That forces Google to only return results from early911sregistry. You can then add in some of the other features like -hitsIdon'tlike to remove lots of threads with words you don't want. E.g. -jack would return threads that did not have 'jack' in there. Probably not a good idea for toolkit, but you know what I mean. Check the google help file for other advanced features to help the searching, such as using 'or', using wildcards, etc.

From the contents of the clear box and the writing on it "Wardreieck" it is a roadside Emergency Triangle. A great way to determine if something was available for the car is to look at both the US and Euro (German) original parts list from Porsche. Both of those can be found on the Porsche.com website.... see below.. I saved you some searching.

    US Parts Catalog: 911 '70-73
    http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...73_KATALOG.pdf
Main Group 0: Accessories: No listing for emergency triangle or the sorts

    German Parts Catalog: 911 '70-73
    http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...73_KATALOG.pdf
Hauptgruppe 0: Werkzeuge und Zubehor: No listing for "wandreieck" or general "reiecke" or triangle.

Thus, the item is probably non-Porsche.
For sure, ask the owner to send a picture of the bottom or look for a porsche number, 11digits.. XXX XXX XXX XX

    Happy Hunting!

I did not see the fuse kit...noticed a fuse, but not the 4 fuse kit...take a look in the bottom of each of the pockets of the tool kit, sometimes the fuse pack will get jammed down into the bottom of a pocket...if you find it, be careful not to break it pulling it out...congrats on a great find.

Regarding the emergency triangle...I believe the plastic ones were available in the late 60's early 70's. I have not seen the triangle and the first aid kit combined...really cool...most had a seperate triangle and first aid kit...which I believe were ADAC requirements as well as some other european country requirements...Belgium for example
