Thanks Henk. That is a great help. I do have 961808 in my list, but with build 8607. Can you check that one again please.
Additional photos of 962170 case casting numbers. This is a great example of mixed revisions:

Here are the pictures of that block Dave, must have been an error in your previous info on it?

    Cheers, Henk.

Thanks Henk, that is MOST helpful. Yes, it is easy to get errors in the data. Sometimes it is hard to read the numbers, but your photo is as clear as they get.
Of real interest is the R case casting numbers; the earliest use I have, and earlier by 700 builds than the split versions posted above. Can you also post photos of the case pairing #'s on the top, and the casting date codes on the pulley end of each half please.

No problem Dave, I will make pictures when I get back in my shop on Monday, glad to be of help, you do awesome work!
As soon as the engines of the other numbers are out of the cars I can get the other info also.
In return I am asking a favor from you, this week I purchased a fairly early 1965 which I will restore, the COA was originated in 1994 and they didn't state a date of completion, when do you think this car was built/completed? The COA states (the car is matching numbers) Vin# 301802 and engine# 901909 with transmission# 101821

    Thanks Henk.

Thanks Henk. The more engines that I can get fully documented with photos, the more clear the production picture becomes.
Regarding 301802, it is very difficult to provide an accurate completion date because they tended to be well out of sequence. However 301803, in the same paint, was completed July 20th, 1965. This was very near the end of 1965 MY production (to my way of thinking). I would guess that your car might be a bit earlier. Since you do have a COA, I don't see why PCNA would not assist with providing the date of completion and the Webasto serial #.

    Dave,

Here's one to add: 901/06 8204 with 911596 Anyone know what the little extra numbers mean" 7 27"? The rest look correct, i.e in sequence, etc. Thanks.
