    Door plugs

Are the door plugs on a 71 911 supposed to be the rubber or plastic? They are the ones that are about the size of a nickel.

    Thanks david

Originally, a surprisingly soft rubber material. I'm not sure what the repops you see out there are made of

There are many repro style bungs available. The originals have lots of concentric circles. This is another product we have on our list to make this year.

    Thanks

Porsche will supercede to the plastic ones, the rubber ones are available from International Mercantile.

What Ed said. Get them from the source. I've been to International Mercantile in Carlsbad they have what you need.

The problem with the plastic ones is you have to put them into hot water to make them pliable to insert. Otherwise they tend to crinkle up and not seat properly.

I had to replace my driver door after a hit and run accident and some previous fool had enlarged the holes in the door to get to the door mirror. The existing size grommets do not fit and are too small. Does anyone know where to get larger grommets? Is this an Orchard Supply (NorCal) thing?

I'm thinking it's hardware store time. (Maybe Grainger)
