Nothing unsual.
Some photos in sales brochure never have been correct for the MY.
When they printed the literature in spring, this was before new model came out in early September.
The also used same pics for RoW and US lit., with a few exceptions, especially after 1970.

yeah.
amazing they deleted oil trap and added black 73 turn lights and bumpers, all for the sake of presenting the new car for 73 by using an old 72 model shot.

Weren't those black buggy bumpers a '73 midyear thing? Seems kinda odd that they'd show them in the first '73 brochure, when they weren't on the cars.

Its published in the big "luxury" 73 brochure, white 911E cover. They got printed twice, usually spring and late fall.
According to Johnson's book, all MY 73 for US market needed the rubber bumpers, a step-gap for the bigger 1974 changes.

Here are other literature examples:

1972 RoW brochure for 2.4 cars, printed in spring 71 and showing pre-serie prototype cars (also published in Brian Long's Book.):
In the interior of the orange car, note the "911T" insigna on the glovebox.
An item which never made it into the 2.4l serie.
Also, this german market RoW cars feature 2.2l rear mirrors even 2.4 later got sold w the larger rectangulars (except UK market)

In the same brochure, I beleive that this pre-serie 1972 911S from spring 1971 does not feature yet a front spoiler.
Its essentially a 2.2S model but shown with the black 2.4 engine grill, built for publicity shot purposes.


Last but not least, the famous RS prototype No.0013 published in a spring 1973 brochure "the 1973 model line up".
The blue car on the very top is the defunct 2.7S, replaced by the RS Carrera model line.
Note its rear flares. (this car is discussed on another thread).

This is pretty interesting; I have a small collection of lit - mostly for the MY's I own, but never paid attention to the details of the cars. I'd only noticed that on a couple of my SWT brochures, the picture is of a prototype car, often with a round Targa emblem on the bar, and an early wood dash.
Maybe it's true that MY 73 required the black bumpers in the US, but I know quite a few cars that were delivered without them - the dealer would upgrade them later.
Interesting things here - I guess marketing and product weren't in the same building.
