Here's #36... odd it doesn't show up on the M471 list!

And those flares... definitely "not" the "...the real thing". Original ad from 2009 admits they were added. I hate rip-off con-artists.

    Flame away...

He just spent $5000 on rebuilding the Weber's 2 months ago!!! Silly, he could have bought a NOS set of 46's for nearly that money from someone here on the board

In case someone is looking for a GOOD 914-6, I am going to put #1800 up for sale in a month or so. Canary Yellow, matching numbers with 2 engines and 2 transmissions (original and 3.0 hot rod), California Blue Plate car from Anderson Behel in the bay area. Gas Burner wheels, never rusty, rotisserie restored only a couple years ago. I can't find any pictures on this computer but go back a couple pages on this thread and see it next to the Tangerine one.

This is not an ad for sale yet, just a hint. It is such a great car that I should keep it but I just bought something spectacularly interesting and need to sell a couple cars.

Question for the brain trust... I have a 1970 six chassis 2655. What month do you think is the production date. The red one on Samba is 1911 iirc and has a 5/70 production date. I have to believe that mine is one of the last built during that MY, no? I want to buy a repro VIN sticker and get the date correct. Thanks!

Not necessarily. The COA is famous for not showing the production date. Fortunately, my original 6 is #2615 so I'm very close to yours in production sequence. I'll check my VIN sticker when I get home tonight.

In addition, there are other ways to confirm your car's build date or at least a very close approximation If you pull out one of your VDO gauges you will find a production date just under the rubber sleeve of each gauge.
