Further to the photograph in the earlier Speedster Magazine article, does anyone have any more photographs of a factory 1972 ST engine bay, particularly around the oil filter area / overflow area?

    Thx

Interesting photos Hugh. It appears that the oil console set up on those cars all are a little bit different. I also see that the original photos do not show any gusset ing to strengthen the chassis. Was that a later more "modern" modification?

agree Scott, although without finding genuine period photos ( they are around but mostly dont show the detail) it is hard to know what is correct these days, what is period modification (or slightly later) and what is not correctly restored
here are a couple more 72's

Chassis strengthening methods was discussed earlier in this thread as I recall (didn't go back to find it), but I think the rear shock tower strengthening was first used for the 73 RSRs with coil-over suspensions. Factory engineers noticed that the rear suspension was moving around quite a bit (they filmed it somehow) with the wider rear tires, and as the torsion bars were removed leaving the sole support in the cross member.
