Special early 1964 features on 1965 cars

Not sure if relevant... but I have two two early 65's here at shop that both have the front wing alignment dowels for the fenders...also a early 66'.. I don't recall them being on #132... any idea when the run was of that feature?

first 2 pics are the latches that hold the door top garnish rail ...left is early ..dont know the vin of this car but it was a first quarter 65

2nd set of pics is the glove box door area note different stamping for the door stop buffers...#1 is 350286 (912 reutter built) #2 and
3 are also 912 both 67
maybe the parts catalog can help to narrow this down cause the buffer changed also at this time .
last area is the inner structure of the roof(b-pillar) note the cloak peg area stamping is different...somewhen they changed the tooling and
added a flat are in order to get rid of the wrinkeling of the roofliner once the peg is screwed in position.

an other thing i noticed is that the early cars have "normal" nuts brazed in in many areas whare later this ones(spot welded) were used(see pic)
about the dome light hella script thing...even my 68 had the non "made in germany" script ones

concerning the 911/912 chassis.
the delivery of the 912 started 5th april 1965, first only to european dealers.

Cannot let this opportunity of my 901st post go to anything but this thread with such historical merit.....

So here is a photo of an early 912 taken this spring ( just a week and a half ago ) of what I seem to remember the owner stating was a July 1965 production car. He has owned this low serial numbered car ( in the 700s)nearly it's entire life. 70,000 actual miles. Photo was taken at our local Porsche dealership in St.Paul, MN at an annual event known as AutoFair...... ( he was answering questions most of the day ~ )

2 more changes for the group:
- interior light lenses did have the 'Hella' script, but did not have 'made in Germany' script in the beginning. When did this change?
- engines did not have cast dates in the beginning. Later engines had a cast date on the back end of each case half, just under the fan house (year in the middle and number of dots around it indicating the month). See picture. When did this change?

As far as I know all SWB cars had fender alignment dowels because they were painted off of the car and they were needed to realign them after painting..
They are removed when a fender is replaced or repaired.

Txs! I scanned thru all the pictures I have but could not find anything. Next time I go to the cars I can possibly check.

Meanwhile, on the carpet snaps on the floor pan we can conclude for now that these vanished in May 1965 between car 1111 and 1379.
Pls keep on checking the already listed changes to further c0mplete this people, too many white spots still. I am sure collectively we can further narrow it down.

I have car #717 it is signal red. I have some features that I think might be interesting, not sure if they have been added yet. My car has snaps on top of mounts in the floor boards, I think these are for snapping the floor mats in place so they dont slide around. I also have luggage strap holders in the front trunk. I noticed and I think it is original black paint behind the front horn grills, can anyone else see that on their early cars? Also has anyone else mentioned that the carpet is bordered by cloth, not vinyl. I have leather shift and emergency brake boots, tall deck lid grill, black under deck lid grill, 911 badge on glove box and deck lid. Also when did chrome wheels become standard? I think some early cars had painted wheels. Attachment 328749

I took these a while ago forgot to post; the snaps that hold the central tunnel carpet in place over the handbrake boot.....in pic one the carpet piece folds back over the handbrake and snaps into the clip that is on top of the handbrake leather boot.
