Lorenzo is right - The car is a '72 McLaren M20 (but maybe with an M8F nose?), #5 was almost always driven by New Zelander Denny Hulme...maybe a McLaren Can Am?
Cool stuff, thanks!
Great stuff.......
Hope this helps

The original instructions for the Dräger found in the glove compartment with the tyre pressure gauge as featured in the model year 1973 series manual. The paper is very thin and fragile. Just noticed spelling of "tyre" is English not "tire" American style - so not sure if this was specific to Britain or just how it was translated.

Copy of factory document from among my car's history files. This was sample letter to be used when ordering a model year 1973 Porsche Carrera RS for competition purposes. A waiver of claims. Reading the second edition Carrera RS book section about the special ordering process for first 500 cars series reminded me to post ...not sure if book mentions it because still working through the chapters.
I don't need to go to the gym as often for a while - hefty tome is a gentle workout in itself

Indeed interesting and noticed that the draeger in the RS supplement differs from the one the manual that was found in the glove box, different tip!

I had posted a copy some time ago, the link was broken and now I restored it ... it's exactly the same and it also shows "tyre" ... http://test.early911sregistry.org/fo...ger-manomenter

Does anyone know if the Dräger gauge was an option in different years?
I have a Dräger with my car (69S), and tire pressure gauge is specifically called out as an option on kardex, window sticker, etc.
I am used to seeing Messkos in the took kits, but in 69 I believe they stopped putting them in the tool kits and made the gauge an option. It's not clear to me if this gauge is the gauge called out in these docs.
Hi Cees
Well spotted.
Dräger make a lot of different variations not just the tip (Some of their other tips are very long for e.g. truck and other industrial use and some gauges are supplied with range of tips becase they are interchangeable.)
They also can have different pressure range / dial and brand sticker. Here are some of the dial variants I have, all with the straight tip. I do have one with the tip in the instruction leaflet.
Presumably they print limited version of instruction paper becase the operation of button and adjuster or doesn't really vary. I like their products because I find them reasonably accurate for this style of gauge, having compared to expensive calibrated ones at work, also being easy to use and read -- not just because example as pictured in the model year T/E/S manual came with my 911. I have a other different Drägers beyond these in picture but they are in glovebox of cars.
Also have some MotoMeter ones -- their little leather cases are better than the thin, cheap looking plastic Dräger case.
Dräger style are still made but IIRC branding changed and colour are now silver.

A small burgundy real-leather notebook that says Porsche on lower edge and has a flap at reverse for storing papers or currency, still in original greaseproof packaging...
The book in background is not Porsche item just a British motortrade catalogue... dated April 1972 and its 200 hard backed pages contains a fascinating array of period car accessory and workshop equipment ranging from consumable nuts and bolts right up to expensive professional garage capital equipment. Multiple brands from era covered with prices. Fun period reference particularly having a 1972/3 period car.
The Raydyot brand lamps once fitted through the grill on my car by the successful 1973 RAC Rally driver/previous owner as mentioned and old photograph in another post, are listed ..
Boxed pair in storage...if factory option Hella not specified on order, an aftermarket option that might have been fitted in period ...well at least they were on my particular UK apparently.
My friend who is a well known and respected independent Porsche specialist here in London since 1970s had a trip down memory lane when seeing some of the items listed in the catalogue - tools, equipment he had and maybe still has from the era![]()
