That car is not restored, actually almost completely original. That car belonged to Walt Reeves son, Richard. Richard wanted to sell it about ten years ago, so I contacted a friend of mine in Lubbock. Pretty much just sat in the garage. I believe it was sold new in Sacramento, but spent most of it's life in Texas. Very rust free. #1907. I arranged the sale to "Gulf 908", looks like it got a good home!
Mines's a 1971 willow green -6.
Very low miles and literally looks showroom new. Absolutely original and first paint.
Just incredible looking. I doubt there are a handful as nice. I was really lucky.

c/n is 1907 - May '70 - and the front and doors have been painted a while ago probably due to road rash.
The paint from the targa bar back is still original.
All the panels close very well and the shut lines are very good.
The car still has that original Porsche 'smell' when I open the doors and lids on a hot day.
I make sure I drive it once a week for about an hour to ensure the battery keeps charged.
You sure looked like you were enjoying your car on Petrolicius !

I am building #200 right now, came from Houston TX. No rust all original car, but I can't leave original alone on a 914-6 engine - the stock engine configuration on these cars was an embarrassment, only a few HP more than the 2.0 4 cyl. This one will get the full 914-6S specs, a car they should have built.
A 914/6 needs minimum 200hp to be fun....and Gt spec!

For sale is a beautifully restored 914-6. This is a real six, not a clone. Bare metal, rotisserie restoration. There was no structural repairs needed, only minor issues which were corrected. Entire shell was media blasted, doors and hoods dipped. Factory steel flares welded on with body stiffening kit and sway bar mounts.Built as an M-471 optioned car with flared rocker panels and front valence.All hardware was blasted and replated in correct yellow chromate or replaced as needed. Interior restored with Autos International products, instruments rebuilt by North Hollywood.All new stock suspension, Koni shocks, turbo tie rods, new brake lines, new master cylinder, restored calipers. Fuchs wheels. Fresh 2.7 liter engine, machine work by Ollie's. New euro pistons and cylinders, bearings, chains, rebuilt heads, new clutch. Weber carbs rebuilt. Stock heat exchangers with sport muffler. Currently has K&N filters, but stock air cleaner is included. Rebuilt side shift transmission.
The car has been restored in the original colors and trim per the factory COA. Restored over a two year period being finished in 2015.
The original engine was not with the car when it was bought by the previous owner in the early 80's, hence the lower reserve on this car.
This cars paint and detail finish shows very well! Runs great!
Approx. 3,300 of these cars were made, making them fairly rare to find. The targa top stows in the rear trunk so it is always available to install if the weather turns wet.
Q: You did not really describe the present engine in the car. Where did it come from, who rebuilt, was it upgraded, new pistons and cylinders? Were the tensioners upgraded? Do you have the engine #? Could you tell me where the car is located please? May-24-16 A: The engine was completely rebuilt using new Mahle euro pistons and cylinders. Ollie's machine in Arizona machined the case joining surfaces, added case savers for the head studs, line bored the block and media tumbled the block. All new bearings, chains, 930 tensioners. Heads were gone through. Solex cams. The 2.7 is an "S" engine with the larger 35mm ports. PMO manifolds are matched to the heads, Weber carbs rejetted with 34mm venturis. Stock heat exchangers in good condition. I did the engine rebuild. Years ago I worked at a Porsche dealer, more time in a garage that serviced VW's and Porsche.
