Thread: any BMW 2002 folks in here ?

Thanks Flunder. Agree on the early version being the most engaging with purity of design.Think SWB and Stepnose.
The plan is a period mild hot rod with a burnished original finish.

My first BMW was a '67 1600 in Caribe (blue) with a grey all vinyl interior, making it very close to Flunder's car. VIN was 1559938. I bought that car in 1974, back when virtually no one knew what a BMW was (slight exaggeration).

Looking for some info on toolkit for my Ti/SA project: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...BMW-1800-Ti-SA
I'm thinking it would be similar to an early 2002 kit and was wondering if anyone could help with information. From my experience, BMW people don't seem to be quite as rabid about tool kits as you-know-who.
Here are pictures of the roll (wet after cleaning) and the tools. I'm guessing it's missing a wrench. Thanks, Bill

Agreed re the knowledge here vs almost anywhere else. One thought would be to check the e9coupe forum as well if you haven't already.

Sounds like a shared intention to avoid paint shop prison and keep largely original finish.

Actually more interested in a clean undercarriage than nice new paint.

Always liked the finned ALPINA diff cover introduced for the e21.

Shown here with the weld on brackets ALPINA supplied to enable proper retrofit to 02 chassis.

The 02 is Fjord Blue which side-by-side would be noticeably different. Nice E39 M5 tho!!
