    The car is now FS with no holds. It's one of the last 1967R replica's with a fair price:

    • I don't plan to modify the loud exhaust. It is what it is. You can see the headers entering the two megaphone exhaust in the pictures.
    • I may modify the seat belts.
    • I plan to get the Weber carb's to match the flow of the exhaust.
    • I figured out the front alignment. I'll fix it.


    These early cars are easy and fun to work with. I've done it before with a 1973 replica.The earlier one is harder to duplicate with the big tank and pure lines of an early 1967R car and with this look:

    BaT Description

    This 1971 Porsche 911T is a heavily modified example that was acquired by the seller as a partially complete project three years ago. The 3.4-liter flat-six was built by Jae Lee of Mirage International with Mahle pistons, PMO carburetors, a lightweight flywheel, M&K headers, and MSD ignition. The 901 5-speed manual transaxle was also rebuilt and is equipped with a limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include Bilstein shocks, fender flares, ST seats with houndstooth inserts, a roll bar, and many other performance-oriented components as further detailed below. Approximately 2,500 miles have been added since the build was completed, and the car is said to make 270 horsepower at the rear wheels. This 911T hot rod is now being offered for sale with records and photos from the build, a Porsche CoA, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

    A repaint was performed in Leaf Green following the installation of fiberglass front fenders and SC-style rear flares by GA Coachworks of San Diego. The body was also acid dipped and epoxy primed before the refinishing. A 911R-style rear bumper and the front bumper from a 911S have been fitted along with Euro-spec turn signals and H4 headlights. Minor paint chips are noted by the seller. A Wurth Schutz undercoating was added, and the car is said to weigh approximately 2,200 pounds with a driver. 15″ Fuchs wheels have been powder coated black and measure 7″ and 8″ in width. They are mounted with 62mm studs and wear Avon CR6ZZ tires. Rebuilt brakes from a Carrera were added along with new wheel bearings, a new master cylinder, a powder coated steering rack, and a 935 bump steer kit.

    Fiberglass ST seats are trimmed in black leather with silver deviated stitching and custom houndstooth inserts. Leather door panels and an RS carpet kit were added, along with a welded roll bar, a fire extinguisher, and a pair of Crow racing harnesses. A Zuffenhaus ST 3-spoke steering wheel is fitted along with a 917-style shift knob and gas pedal. A Rennline dashboard, floorboards, and aluminum clutch and brake pedals have also been installed. The radio and heater have been deleted and the gauges were refreshed by Seattle Speedometer. The odometer currently shows approximately 30k miles, 2,500 of which were added since completion of the build.

    The engine was built by Mirage International of San Diego, California with 3.4L Mahle sport pistons, ARP bolts, PMO 46mm carburetors, a lightweight flywheel, M&K headers and muffler, custom cams and heads, and MSD ignition. Elephant Racing finned oil lines and an oil tank from a 911SC have been added, along with a custom oil cooler, distributor, and lightweight RS fuel tank. The battery was relocated to the smuggler’s box and is protected by a Rennline cover. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt 901 5-speed transaxle that has been fitted with a Guard limited-slip differential. An oil change and valve adjustment were performed within the last 100 miles.

    Re-valved Bilstein shocks were installed along with Monoball bushings, RSR sway bars, custom spindles, a front strut brace, and Turbo tie-rods. a Porsche CoA, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. A number of records and photographs from the build are viewable along with a dyno sheet showing output at just over 270 horsepower.

    I know this car and the owner. The build is top notch; all the right people worked on it and it has all the right parts. Passionate owner who did things right, no shortcuts. It’s a stunning hot-rod 911 that I’d be proud to own.

    The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms that this car was originally a 911E supplied new to the Australian market as a right-hand drive car in 1970, which suggests that having lived in that primarily dry climate from 1970 to 2016, the bodyshell is likely to be in extremely good order with no signs of rust or deterioration.

    In 2010/11 the car was professionally rebuilt as an homage to the original 911 RS of 1973. The company stripped the shell back to bare metal and rebuilt it, with no shortcuts taken, to reproduce an authentic RS bodyshell to an extremely high standard. They then sourced and fitted a later 3.2 Carrera engine and gearbox and revised later suspension and brakes to easily handle this increase in power and performance. The bills on file suggest this work cost in excess of £100,000 at the time.

    The car was imported to the UK in 2016 and then offered for sale by a specialist Porsche dealer and sold for £125,000. That clearly indicates the quality of this work and how well this car actually presents in the metal.

    Offered from a respected UK funder, this car has recently been repossessed and is now offered directly from the UK finance house at a very realistic guide price, in fact, half of what it was sold for just two years ago.

    Everyone loves the original 2.7RS and this wonderful tribute looks and drives exceptionally well, and offers outstanding value in the Sale today.

    Why, oh why, are the panel gaps so atrocious on this car? It's all I can see. Hood and decklid in particular are a mile off.
