The VIN tag is ridiculous! Looks like a clay model of one painted silver. The rivets don't even line up in it.

Does one bid first to win, then pop the hood and ask questions later? I mean how does this stuff even get bids? If I'm out droppin' a quarter extra large on collector cars, I have budget for a sidekick who knows what to look for if I don't myself. Not to imply that I am out dropping 250k a pop on a fleet of collector cars... you know what I mean.

This RS sold at RM's Monaco sale 2 months ago for 196K Euro FWIW.

    http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails...6&Currency=EUR

PS BTW, the seller has about half of the option codes descriptions incorrect in his ad.

I have no opinion on the eBay car, but an RS has sold *quietly* for $600,000. That is the new ceiling.

I'd never admit that either. Funny money. Under the radar and off the map.

Exactly. Very doubtful that someone paid that price for a non-original engine Touring RS with no race history.

The engine serial number stamping of RS 1222 as compared with a correct Factory stamped RS engine.
