    The fine 911 Targa offered here was completed on May 15, 1968 at the Zuffenhausen Porsche factory. The new sports car was attractively finished in Tangerine (Blood Orange) over a Black Leatherette interior and delivered new to dry and sunny Arizona.

    In the care of its most recent, long term private owner, this beautiful 911S soft window Targa underwent a well-documented rotisserie restoration by marque experts. Covering the span of three years from 2012 to 2015, and documented by photos and a very thick file of receipts, over six pages are dedicated to just a line item list of who completed each element of the car—dozens more detail the particulars of the work executed.

    Needless to say, this Porsche is in beautiful condition throughout. The interior is nicely trimmed in the correct leatherette and basket weave dash stripping, the wood rimmed steering wheel is an exacting reproduction of the Porsche original and the unique-to-1968 door cards are installed. Outside, the paint shows well and the correct trim and grills are all fitted. A laundry list of mechanical work completed by the right folks speaks to how well this example will no doubt perform.

    From the last year of the short wheelbase 911s, these fun and exciting early 911s are among the purest examples of Porsche's most successful model. Offered with the Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity, original owner's manuals, and tool kit, this numbers-matching Targa is ready for open-air enjoyment on challenging roads and active participation in local and club shows.

    Saw this on Pelican. Needs some "updates" removed, but says matching numbers. First post by seller... so maybe a good deal or not legitimate? NMNA.

    This is an original owner, matching numbers car.
    I have kept this car in exceptional mechanical condition since new. It runs and drives as well or better than when it was new.
    Engine was rebuilt about 40,000 miles ago. Opened to 2.7 using original Mahle Nikasil pistons and cylinders and upgraded MFI pump. All the usual block reinforcements and oil pump upgrades were done. MFI pump rebuilt by Pacific Fuel injection.
    Suspension completely rebuilt with Elephant Racing rubber bushings throughout.
    Complete service records from new, with original manuals and dealer window sticker.
    Painted in GP White, (originally silver), about 20 years go and is still in very good condition. Just a few minor paint chips. No rust, always garaged.
    Top redone by Dan Bechtel a few years ago.
    Recaro LS sport seats done in leather by Tony at Autobahn interiors.
    Body has real factory ducktail and steel factory RS flares, aftermarket front spoiler.
    Dealer installed VWoA A/C with new Sanden compressor works great even in Texas heat. Car sits on 6 and 7"x16 Fuchs, but also have 6 and 7x15 Fuchs.
    Original steering wheel and engine thermo flapper box included.
    $79,000.

    Does this 'S' look familiar to anyone? I thought this car was for sale on this thread one or two years ago, but hard to find without the VIN.
    Does a later 'S' chin spoiler add or delete value? Parking and tail lamp lens look like black edge 73MY. I noticed on the interior a shift boot that looks like a 915 trans and wrong location for the glove box '911S' logo.
