What spark plugs are you running with your Pertronix / Electronic Ignition

Trying to solicit some ideas on what spark plugs people are running on their early 2.0's that have electronic ignition. Edit: Also interested in what you gapped the plugs to.

    Thanks!

My setup is based on an MSD 6A with Pertronix in a 2.2S using NGK BP7ES set gap to 1.3 mm (0.051”) however I understand that some may run closer to .038-.042”

That said - I do not have a lot of experience with this car and this is how it was setup after restoration so I would also be interested to hear from others who are more experienced.

Very interesting Valhalla - i think it would be very cool to put together a list of setups to help folks out. I mean cross reference a NGK BP5ES - there are like 45 Bosch plugs it converts to. Unreal for anyone to figure this out.

I may run NGK BP5ES's just to see how they work, as on Pelican that is what people are recommending. I do know that higher NGK numbers = colder plug (assuming wattage) and higher Bosch numbers are hotter (higher wattage).

So, I am guessing in your car Valhalla, that the reason they went with a colder plug is because you have a MSD. (and higher compression in an S)

Here is a table that I've found helpful when looking at different heat ranges across plugs

On my 2.0 S with a Bosch three pin CD I run NGK BP7ES gapped to .024" Since yours isn't an S I would go to the 6ES.

Excellent gents, thank you. I’ve had 6ES and 5ES both recommended.
