. . . seat 's out for repair

It's not like I've put that many miles on it, but the seat 's always seemed a bit fragile. The shell and attachment feel fine, by themselves --- recall, this is 50-year-old fiberglass-cum-wood secured to an ancient set of alu rails by four wood screws (gulp!), mounted to an equally ancient floor bracket. This seat was put-together/bought/installed ~8 years ago . . .

. . . but the covering seemed a bit delicate for what little road duty it was expected to support. I'd noticed the corduroy covering coming adrift some years back . . . just tucked it in/carried on. But other sections had started loosening, as well, so before things go too outta hand . . .

The side bolsters were doing fine --- almost no wear, at all . . . but the center pad was pretty-much unraveling, so . . .

. . . pulled the whole thing out, yesterday, took it to a Guy Craig Stevenson introduced me to, what? --- 30 years ago, now . . . Pete Engle, owner of Westminister Auto Upholstery. Last time I saw Pete, I asked him if he could mod a tonneau cover to fit around the roll cage of a Defender . . . so its been a while.
