At the Targa CA. before last I was in the middle of about 6 of us caught in bumper to bumper for about 45 min. go'n South on PCH to get to the Fort Hunter Liggett turn off..... Even with all the windows open and a mild sea breeze THAT was as close as I've come to passing out in a long time.....

    Thumbs up

because you couldn't put the pedal to the metal-that's called anxiety
    Agreed....

Moreover.... I mentioned to the other guys after we turned off that the next time I get pulled over for excessive speed I'll tell the cop that 'It is literally KILLING me to go slow in this car...........

2 rubber seals?! OK, I need close up pics of this. The 73 had one when purchased which was fit to a channel in the license plate panel.

I don't think I have a close up pic of my own car to show, so here is one from the parts catalog. I believe it's #25 & #26.

^^^ What Tom said. Unless you really need heat/defrosters.

Speaking of carbon monoxide poisoning, Olivier Beretta apparently was overcome in the #73 Corvette at LeMans just awhile ago.
No word yet on his blood check, but he reported feeling woozy and got out of the car. Hope it's not related to their AC/ventilation system.

If I was a real man, even in Washington state, I could probably handle no heat in the 30s and 40s, but since I am not real man enough - I will opt for double seals, a slow asphexia resulting in the demise of my cereberal cortex, yeilding a painful malingering carbon monoxide fueled death while watching Top Gear in my livingroom. Or I could take out the 911.

I've just ordered a new engine lid seal (# 901.512.901.00) and I need instructions on how to install it. My car has an original aluminum license panel but it doesn't appear to have any provision for the seal, or am I missing something?

    TIA.

It is a tiny channel, you will have to take off the Lic. panel and slide it in from the side. I do not know if there is a upside down or right side up though. Go to a restoration shop that works on 911's. Chris

The aluminum panel on my 72 doesn't have the retainer for that seal either. I just have the one between the panel and the body.
