This incredible 1972 Porsche 911 S was purchased new by the current owner’s father, William Irwin, for use by his then-company Conval Equipment Ltd. Mr. Irwin bought the fully loaded 911 as a demonstrator from H.J. Pfaff Motors in New Market, Ontario, just north of Toronto. As a demo for the dealership, the Porsche was equipped with a myriad of options, including a limited-slip differential, Koni shock absorbers, Recaro Sport seats, electric sunroof, reinforced rear bumper, as well as an antenna, loudspeaker, and very rare air conditioning. Finished in Albert Blue over a tan vinyl interior, the 911 was sent to Pfaff on 14 March 1972 and bought by Irwin on 9 August of that year.

William Irwin would drive the car regularly on business trips around Canada for the ensuing years, always enjoying the drive. About nine years later, when the car was no longer being driven much by the elder Irwin, it was given to his son, Tom, as a gift. Having sat for several years, the Porsche was not running at its best. As such, Tom sent the 911 to British Sports Car Limited in Toronto in June 1981 to have the engine rebuilt and fully sorted.

Soon after being rebuilt, Tom and his father were on a business trip to northern Canada in the fall of 1981. Stuck behind a semi-truck, Tom went to pass the slower truck but decided against it when he saw oncoming traffic down the road. Maybe not used to driving the faster Porsche, William egged his son on, telling him that “it’s a goddamn Porsche, just step on it!”

Since that day, Tom Irwin has kept his father’s Porsche on the road, routinely servicing the car every year and tending to any issues that arose during his tenure. Apart from having been repainted in its original Albert Blue color some 35 years ago, as well as having the sport seats more recently rebuilt and re-trimmed in matching tan vinyl, this incredible 911 S remains highly original throughout. While the optional air conditioning has since been removed for better performance, the original unit and bracket are included with the car. Furthermore, amongst the extensive collection of service receipts that are included is the original sales invoice from Pfaff Motors, as well as the receipt for the Zeibart undercoating, which was applied when the car was new (even the Zeibart sticker remains on the windshield). Amongst the documentation and other assorted spare parts that have been collected over the years, the Porsche also includes its original owner's manual and service booklets in their pouch, original tool roll and jack, the original spare Fuchs wheel, and even the original Porsche car bra that first came with the car.
